Dr. Stephen Tam joined NYPT and Wellness in 2017 and is the Clinical Director of the Valley Stream location. He graduated Magna Cum-Laude from Baruch College’s BBA program and worked in marketing for 8 years before following his passion of physical therapy. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Mercy College in 2016 where he graduated among the top of his class and was nominated by faculty for induction into Alpha Eta, the National Honor Society for Allied Health Professionals. Stephen treats with compassion, empathy, and provides therapy that is individualized for each patient using the most current evidence-based research. He is committed to his patient’s success and values the relationships and personal connections that he establishes with the patients and families he serves. Stephen is relentless in his pursuit of the best new practices with manual therapy including instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), myofascial cup therapy, muscle energy techniques, trigger point release, strain/counter strain, myofascial release, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), and active release. Stephen’s interests include spending time with family and friends, strength training, bodybuilding, HIT training, and traveling.
